Road Signs Questions and Answers

Warning triangle, speed limit, mandatory arrow and information sign.
Study shapes. Match the question to the family before you read every symbol.

A marking shortcut

If two answers describe the symbol and one describes the shape's job, the job is usually what they asked. "Slippery road ahead, slow down" beats "a triangle with a picture". Revise the families on the road signs page, then come back and do these cold.

Free practice questions

These are PassDrive practice examples, written so you learn the rule. The VID screen randomises its questions, so the wording on the day will be different.

Practice

An inverted triangular sign at a junction means

  1. Warning of a junction somewhere later
  2. Give way to traffic on the road you are joining
  3. Stop completely in every case
  4. You have priority
Show the answer

B. Give way to traffic on the road you are joining. That is the yield sign. It is not the same as a stop sign, and it is not a warning triangle placed in advance.

Practice

A blue circle with a white arrow to the right means

  1. No right turn
  2. Warning of a right-hand curve
  3. You must turn right
  4. Overtake on the right
Show the answer

C. You must turn right. Blue circles are mandatory. The arrow is the direction you have to take.
