VID test
Common VID Test Mistakes
Mistakes on the screen
- Choosing the car that is closest, instead of the car with priority.
- Treating a triangular warning as a stop instruction. It warns. A red circle or a stop sign orders.
- Overtaking on the left. Traffic keeps left, so you overtake on the right, and only across a broken line.
- Reading 60 in a red circle as a target speed rather than a maximum.
- Stopping on a yield sign when the road you are joining is empty. Yield means give way if there is traffic, not a compulsory full stop. A stop sign is the full stop.
Mistakes before you arrive
Booking the test because a cousin is going. Leaving the ID at home. Revising only road signs and never opening a junction diagram. Trusting a person outside the gate who sells "this week's questions".
Do three clean mocks first. PassDrive will show you the miss, not just the score. Four lessons are free. The unlimited course is US$4.99 and the completion pass rate is 99.99%.
Questions people ask
I always lose marks on diagrams. Where do I start?
Open the giving-way diagram page and learn one rule: traffic from the right, unless a sign says otherwise.
Is guessing worth it?
On a 23-out-of-25 pass mark, two guesses can be the whole margin. Guess only after you have removed the impossible answers.
