Intersection Diagram Questions
T-junctions
In the picture, one road stops and the other runs past. The car on the road that stops is the guest. It gives way to traffic from both directions on the through road. Learners apply "priority from the right" here and let a car from the stem pull out in front of traffic coming from the left. That is wrong. The through road has priority because of the layout, not because of which side the car is on.
Crossroads
Four arms, no signs: right-hand priority. Four arms, stop signs on every arm: four-way stop rules. Four arms, lights: the lights. Four arms, a stop sign on only one arm: that arm stops and gives way, and the others follow whatever their own approach says.
Worked examples sit with the giving-way diagrams and the four-way stop page.

Practice
You are on the stem of a T-junction, turning onto the main road. A car is coming from your left on that main road. Who goes first?
- You, because the car is on your left and left has no priority
- The car on the main road
- You, if you indicate
- Whoever moves first
Show the answer
B. The car on the main road. Traffic joining from the stem of a T gives way to traffic already on the through road, from either direction.
